Bar-Mitzvah.

We are not told mush about the childhood of Yeshua, but there are clues in this account of Him coming to the age of manhood. He was either 12-13 years old when as Ha’Torah required Him to be taken by His parents Mari and Yosef up to Yerushalayim.  Luke 2:42-46, 51.

Many forget very quickly that Beit Lechem was the home of Yosef and His birth place. he had been circumcised in the Temple on the eight day as was required. Yeshua was missing and one the third day they found Him in the Temple teaching, questioning the Rabbis. Luke 2:46-47.

This were perhaps the secret Talmidim Nakdimon and Yosef of Ramatayim, where challenged by this youth. He was setting a seed in them for the end of His life, the stake and the resurrection.  Yohanan chapter 3,.

Matthew/Levi 27:53,   Mark 15:43,   Luke 23:51,   Yohanan 19:38.

Yeshua the Boy. Part-One.

December 26, 2013

From toddler to Bar Mitzvah.

We do not have much information in the scriptures about Yeshua as a child, but what we have is perhaps enough. People read sometimes to fast and they miss out the facts and the details of a letter, document. It is like failing to read the small print on the conditions of a contract.

The Wisemen or Magi did not visit Yeshua in the manger, when He was born in Beit Lechem.  They were only setting out on their journey to follow the promised appearance of the star of Ya’akov. It would be at least one year later for them to arrive in Yerushalayim and seek out the new King of Ysra’el.

B’Midbar/Numbers 24;17, Matthew/Levi 2:1-5,  Micah 5:1(2).

Prophecy and The Prophet.

After Jesus was circumcised in the Temple, to fulfill Torah tow people a man and a woman met His parents and prophesied over Him as the promised Messiah. Luke 2:36-37.

But the boy Yeshua, after His Bar-Mitzvah stayed in the Temple teaching and answering questions with the religious teachers. Luke 2:46-47. In the temptations of Satan, Yeshua was taken to the highest point and asked to bow to him. But Yeshua said no.  Matthew/Levi 4:5-7,  Luke 4:9-12.
